Our Mission
Touch Grass Labs exists to challenge the absurdity of modern life—where people scroll for hours, argue with strangers, and forget to step outside. We make products that serve as simple, whimsical reminders to take a break from the online grind and reconnect with the real world.
We started with the Touch Grass Classic—a small wooden tray with fake grass—but we’re building something bigger: a movement that critiques the attention economy with humor, not shame. Our mission is to remind people they have agency, that the digital world doesn’t get to own their time, their thoughts, or their identity.
We’re not anti-technology. We’re pro-balance. We want to see a future where tech supports real life, not replaces it. Through our products, content, and partnerships, we’re sparking conversations about digital well-being and creating tools that push back.
Our Charity Initiative
At Touch Grass Labs, we believe in putting our money where our mission is. That’s why we donate 10% of our profits to organizations that support mental health and digital well-being. The internet has rewired how we connect, work, and consume, but not always for the better. Anxiety, loneliness, and burnout are often amplified by screen addiction and algorithm-driven content. We want to be part of the solution.
We partner with nonprofits and advocacy groups that are building a healthier, more human-centered digital world. These include organizations working in youth mental health, digital detox education, and technology reform. Our goal isn’t just to remind people to unplug, it’s to help create a world where unplugging feels possible in the first place.
By supporting Touch Grass Labs, you're not only making a statement, you’re making a contribution. One patch of grass at a time, we're channeling laughs into something meaningful.
Our Roots
Hey, we get it. The internet has its claws in you. One minute, you're checking an email, next thing you know, you're deep into a conspiracy theory about pigeons. That’s exactly why Touch Grass Labs exists—born in 2025 in Chicago.
But the idea started years earlier. Like many, I found myself trapped in an endless cycle of screen time. Wake up, check my phone. Work, reply to emails. Take a break, scroll. Go home, collapse in front of more screens. Rinse. Repeat.
The phrase “Go Touch Grass” always made me laugh, but it also struck a nerve. So I made it literal—a coaster-sized tray of fake grass that lives on your desk and quietly calls you out. What started as a joke became something deeper.
